Accommodation recommendations for ODCAMP

Hotel accommodation in the centre of Manchester during the weekends tends to be quite high priced due to high demand for sporting events, nightlife and various cultural activities that take place in the city over the weekend. The accommodation for the weekend of ODCAMP whilst not being impacted by either of the two Manchester Premiereship clubs playing at home, is affected by the England v Uruguay, Rugby World Cup match  taking place at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday evening.

There is still some budget dormitory hostel accommodation available (Hatters and Hilton Chambers Hostel) but most hotels are offering rooms at around £170 per night at the moment. Manchester has a good bus, tram and taxi service and generally it can make sense to find accommodation further out in places such as Altrincham or Stockport – Check either (www.laterooms.com or www.booking.com). The cost of a bus/tram/taxi fare would be less than the premium paid in the city centre.

Alternatively, there is accommodation available on (www.airbnb.com) These tend to be rooms in houses, but are also closer to the centre of Manchester than the more reasonable priced accommodation. As a rule it is always best to look at reviews, check out the location on Google Street Map and see whether it is near transport.
